A dental bridge is a removable fixture created to bridge the gap between missing teeth. The first step of constructing a dental bridge is to create two crowns on either side of the missing teeth to use as an anchor. Then, porcelain teeth are crafted and secured to a metal frame. The bridge works like a set of miniature dentures: a single, removable piece that the wearer can remove for cleaning. Because every mouth is different, bridges must be custom-made to fit every mouth. A dental bridge will not only restore your smile, but also keep the shape of your face while maintaining a proper bite.
WHEN DO I NEED BRIDGES?
In some cases, a bridge may be desired for cosmetic reasons. However, in every case, a dental bridge is necessary for a few important reasons
- Maintaining the Bite.
Missing teeth not only affect the person’s ability to chew, but they also create uneven pressure among the remaining teeth.
- Preventing Further Movement.
When a tooth is missing, the remaining teeth will shift around the mouth creating the potential for even more dental problems and possible discomfort
- Facial Shape.
Teeth play an important role in the appearance of the face. Missing and shifting teeth will change the look of the patient’s face. A dental bridge will restore and maintain the shape and appearance of the face.

WHAT IS THE COST OF BRIDGES?
Dental bridges vary in price depending on how many teeth must be replaced and which type of bridge the patient selected. Because bridges serve more than just a cosmetic service, in many cases, dental insurance will cover some or all of the cost of bridges. To learn what your insurance provider will cover, or to find out how we can create an affordable plan that works for you, contact one of our treatment coordinators.
HOW TO PAY FOR YOUR BRIDGES?
Don’t worry if you have reached the maximum cap with your insurance provider for the year or do not otherwise have coverage to pay for your dental treatment, there are other options available. We offer a convenient list of options for making payment arrangements, and we work hard to make many third-party lenders and other types of credit programs available for our patients.
